The 80's - the era of the HOOK!

One of the things I like so much about 80's metal were the hooks that all the great bands had. Hair metal bands like Bon Jovi, Warrant, Cinderella, Winger, Def Leppard, White Lion, etc. as well as more regular metal bands like Tesla, Skid Row, and even Judas Priest all knew how to write that great hook that made the song stick in your head for hours.

There was no better hook-writer than Michael Sweet. Stryper, to me, is the grand master of the hook. No one did it better.

Where, oh, ...

They Played Stryper today at church!!!

Our church is doing a series on the 10 Commandments this summer and today we were doing #8. At the end of the message about stealing, my Pastor talked about stewardship and the proper perspective on money, and how our money actually belongs to God and we just manage it. After he stepped down from the stage the music team came up and played In God We Trust. I thought I was gonna fall off my chair. I was trying to show restraint, but I couldn't help but headbang!! Our church is pretty edgy when ...

Hey guys, I wanted to know if you could make some recommendations on studio monitors. I want some for my computer and thought you may know of some descent ones for a minimal budget. Also, I have a soundmax soundcard in my computer. Is this soundcard acceptable to use in a recording situation? I've used it on Brad's discs that I've played on.

Thanks guys,

Andy
